BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council has a public hearing planned for the regular Monday meeting, to proceed with a $2.146M bond issue to fund costs for upcoming infrastructure work on the sanitary sewer system. The proposed bond sale is expected to be repaid over three fiscal years.
The Council is also being asked to set another public hearing for a $1.3M revenue bond for additional infrastructure work on the water distribution system including planning for a new North Water Main, establishing pressure zones, replacing the generator in the high service pump building, and other related water utility costs. The revenue bond would be through the Iowa Finance Authority, payable from revenues from the water department.
The Council will also be asked to accept a Wastewater and Drinking Water Treatment Financial Assistance Program Grant of $500,000, awarded last week by the Iowa Finance Authority for the ongoing Wastewater Headworks Project. This project began before Daisy selected Boone as the location for their new plant.
