BOONE, Iowa—Boone County was recently able to complete naming volunteers to serve on the Zoning Commission and earlier filled a vacancy on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Right now, there’s a vacancy on the Boone County Board of Health. The Board of Health deals with public health matters in Boone County. Most recently that focus has been on the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, the Boone County Supervisors would like to name a fifth member to the Board of Health. The Board consists of five members, with one member being a licensed medical physician, and other members having nursing, farming and community expertise. Anyone interested in learning more about the position may contact Boone County Health and Sanitation at 515-433-0506. The Board of Health meets 6 times a year on the third Monday of every other month at 5:30 in the afternoon, usually in a meeting room at the Boone County Hospital.
