BOONE, Iowa—With a Heat Advisory in effect, Boone County Democrats still saw quite a bit of activity at their annual “Picnic for the People” held Saturday, June 29th at the McHose Park Shelter House. Dr. Jill Biden appeared on behalf of the Biden Campaign. John Bessler, husband of Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota spent time at the picnic visiting with supporters. Candidates Marianne Williamson, Joe Sestak and John Delany all made appearances.
Boone County Democrats have yet another candidate event on July 13th. Boone’s Ward 2 residents will be treated to a free Ice Cream Social from 11a-1p, at Opal Dubois Anderson Park, aka the “Mickey Mouse Park”, located at 1000 Aldrich Avenue, Boone. Ward 2 residents and their families will have the opportunity to visit with Democratic presidential candidate campaign representatives. Everyone is welcome.
