Boone County Emergency Management Announces Warming Centers Available this Week

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Emergency Management has put together a list of locations serving as Warming Centers this week in Boone County. The information is available on the Boone County Emergency Management Facebook page.

? EXTREME COLD WARNING – WARMING CENTERS OPEN ?

Due to the Extreme Cold Warning in effect this week, warming centers will be available from Monday, February 17th, through Friday, February 21st across Boone County. These facilities are open during their normal business hours and will provide a place for residents to warm up.

Ericson Public Library

Boone County Courthouse (1st Floor)

Boone City Auditorium (2nd Floor)

Boone County Hospital Atrium

Salvation Army

? Madrid:

Madrid City Hall

Madrid Public Library

? Ogden:

Leonard A. Good Public Library

? Pilot Mound:

Pilot Mound Community Center

We will update this list as additional locations become available.

⚠️ Important Notice: Warming Centers are facilities where individuals can temporarily go during extreme cold. Few to no services are provided beyond what is normally available in that building. If you are experiencing a cold-related emergency, call 911 immediately.

Please check on your neighbors, the elderly, and those in need during this dangerous cold weather. Stay safe, Boone County! ❄️
