BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Road Department announced Tuesday that the Des Moines River has receded and secondary road personnel have been able to inspect and clean up the road at the Oriole Road entrance to the Ledges State Park.
River levels last week had put water over Oriole Road south of Camp Hantesa to near the Carl Fritz Henning Shelter in the Ledges State Park. High water had closed the boat ramp in the Ledges and also the flood pole parking lot.
