BOONE, Iowa—The Missouri State Patrol has reported that a Boone, Iowa couple were killed in a traffic accident on Thursday morning. According to a report by investigators, a car operated by 45 year old James Smith of Boone was slowing to a stop for an accident on the side of the interstate when a van, operated by 66 year old Thomas See of Grandview, Missouri ran into the back of the Smith vehicle, causing it to spin into a third vehicle on the side of the road. Smith and his passenger, 45 year old Jodi Smith were pronounced dead at the scene. See and four passengers, including two juveniles, were hospitalized with apparent minor injuries. The accident occurred about 9:30 Thursday morning, on Interstate 70 in central Missouri.
