BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Fire Department has had a busy week. Things were busy with a couple of grass fires and a training event at Central Iowa Expo that drew firefighters from the area. Monday afternoon, the department sent equipment and personnel to assist Story City Fire Department with a call in northeast Boone County.
The Boone Fire Department reported the call on their Facebook page:

Boone firefighters worked with crews from Gilbert, Story City and Roland to bring the building fire under control while firefighters from other communities worked to bring the burning brush and hay bales under control. Boone firefighters remained on scene for approximately 2 hours before being released by Command and returning to service.
