Boone football closes out season at Glenwood

The Boone Toreadors closed out their 2025 football season with a spirited effort on the road, going toe-to-toe with playoff-bound Glenwood before falling, 51-35, on Friday, October 24.

The Boone Toreadors closed out their 2025 football season with a spirited effort on the road, going toe-to-toe with playoff-bound Glenwood before falling, 51-35, on Friday, October 24. 

Boone came out swinging, putting up 14 points in the first quarter to take an early 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

By halftime, Boone trailed just 24-21 after a second-quarter touchdown kept them within striking distance. 

The third quarter saw both teams trade scores, and the quarter ended with Glenwood up, 31-28. 

In the fourth quarter, Glenwood pulled away with 20 points, and Boone scored 7, leaving the final score 51-35. 

Quarterback Jude Baumgardner finished the night 8-for-16 passing for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also rushing for 44 yards and a score.  

Baumgardner also delivered one of the game’s most electrifying moments—a 93-yard fumble return for a touchdown. 

His top targets were Noah Davies (4 catches, 61 yards, 1 TD) and Tate Hollenkamp (3 catches, 25 yards, 1 TD).  

Running back Maddox McIntyre was a force all night, carrying the ball 29 times for 155 yards and finishing the season just shy of 1,000 rushing yards. 

Jonathan Van Roekel added a 10-yard reception and made his presence felt on defense with 2.5 tackles and a sack. 

Defensively, Bodie Brogden led the team with 9 tackles, followed closely by Davies (8.5 tackles) and Ajay Braddock (8 tackles).  

Brenden Hedrick chipped in with 4.5 tackles. 

The Toreadors finish the season 2-7 overall and 1-4 in district play, placing 4th in the district.  

Glenwood, now 7-2 and 4-1 in the district, advances to the postseason.

  • Jude Baumgardner: 1,062 passing yards, 11 TDs; 420 rushing yards, 7 TDs; 1 fumble return TD 
  • Maddox McIntyre: 977 rushing yards, 6 TDs 
  • Noah Davies: 495 receiving yards, 5 TDs; 36 tackles 
  • Tate Hollenkamp: 311 receiving yards, 5 TDs 
  • Bodie Brogden: 51.5 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks; 1 rushing TD, 1 receiving TD 
  • Romero Young Jr.: 33.5 tackles, 2 INTs, 1 TD 
  • Jonathan Van Roekel: 26 tackles, 7 TFL, 3 sacks 
  • Dayne Garrett: 8.5 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 2 fumble recoveries 
  • Brenden Hedrick: 17.5 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 fumble recovery TD
