The Boone girls’ cross country team finished second Monday, September 28, at the Ogden meet at Don Williams Park.
The Toreadors nearly came away with the team championship, scoring 71 points to finish just one point behind Madrid, which won the meet with 70 points.
Collins-Maxwell finished third with 83 points, Grand View Christian was fourth with 117, and Woodward-Granger rounded out the top five with 140 points.
Boone had three runners finish among the top eight individually.
Whitney Chesnut led the Toreadors, placing fifth in a time of 19 minutes, 51.19 seconds.
Emma Thomas was right behind her, finishing sixth in 19:59.19.
Briella Johnson gave Boone its third top-10 performance, taking eighth place in 20:20.69.
Reagan Morgan finished 18th with a time of 21:46.77, while eighth grader Chloe Chesnut completed Boone’s scoring five with a 49th-place finish in 24:23.69.
Bryana Morgan placed 64th in 25:09.05.
Lauren Erickson was 83rd in 27:01.03, Elin Selby finished 94th in 28:11.30, and Aubrey Erickson was 95th in 28:12.21.

Boone will next compete at the Wartburg College Invitational on Saturday, October 3, in Waverly.
