The Boone girls’ cross country team had a 2nd-place finish at the Roland-Story Invitational, scoring 64 points, just behind meet champion Ballard, who finished with 52 points.
Whitney Chesnut led the Toreadors, placing 4th overall in a time of 19:38.80.
She was followed closely by Briella Johnson in 6th (20:07.10), Emma Thomas in 9th (20:23.39), and Reagan Morgan in 10th (20:24.54) — giving Boone four runners in the top 10.
Morgan Chesnut, Elin Selby, Bryana Morgan, and Claire Hansen rounded out the varsity lineup, helping secure the team’s runner-up finish in a competitive field.
Boone Boys Finish 11th
On the boys’ side, Dorian Myers led Boone with a top-20 finish, placing 18th in 17:35.19.
Calvin Cook (19.23.14), Kam Lehman (19.31.71), and Owen Hill (19:48.32) were the next across the finish line.
Simon Enabnit (20:35.28), Samuel Chesnut (21.12.47), and Wyatt Johnson (22.42.08) contributed to the team’s 11th-place finish with 256 points.
Boone’s cross country teams will return to action on Monday, September 29, at the Ogden Invitational, held at Don Williams Golf Course.
