Boone girls lose to Bondurant-Farrar

The Boone girls’ basketball team lost to Bondurant-Farrar, 45-28, Friday, January 31, in Boone in Raccoon River Conference play.

The Boone girls’ basketball team lost to Bondurant-Farrar, 45-28, Friday, January 31, in Boone in Raccoon River Conference play. 

The game was close throughout the first half with the Bluejays up by only 2 after the 1st quarter, 9-7, and up by only 4 at the half, 15-22. 

Bondurant-Farrar led 32-25, at the end of the 3rd quarter, and ended up taking the game, 45-28. 

Macy Chesnut led the Toreadors with 10 points on 3 field goals, 1 3-pointer and 3 free throws. 

Shannon Jenkins had 7 points on 1 3 pointer and 4 free throws, while Addie Tungesvik had 4 points on 1 field goal, 2 free throws, and 3 assists. 

For the defense, Maleah Shivers had 5 rebounds and 1 steal. 

Chesnut grabbed 4 rebounds and 3 steals while Avery Howie had 4 rebounds and 2 steals. 

In addition, the Toreadors lost to Carroll, 52-19, on Tuesday, January 28. 

Howie led the offense with 6 points, and Shivers led the defense with 4 rebounds. 

The Toreadors fell to 5-13 overall and 0-12 in the conference while Bondurant-Farrar improved to 5-13 overall and 2-10 in the conference. 

Boone will travel to Class 3A, No. 10, Carlisle (14-3 overall, 10-1 conference) Friday, February 7.
