Boone girls’ tennis shines against Fort Dodge

 The Boone girls’ tennis team played on their home courts and defeated Fort Dodge, 10-1, Monday, September 8.

 The Boone girls’ tennis team played on their home courts and defeated Fort Dodge, 10-1, Monday, September 8. 

“It was a nice bounce back win,” said head coach Shawn Latimer. 

Leading the charge in singles was No. 2 Livi Schneider, who delivered a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. 

No. 3 Claire Hardinger, No. 4 Juliana Lutz, No. 5 Ally Thompson and No. 6 Olivia Conlin followed suit, each securing victories in straight sets. 

Hardinger won 6-1, 6-0, and Lutz topped her opponent 6-2, 6-1. 

Thompson and Conlin both won 6-0, 6-1. 

No. 1 Kaylee Kuehl lost her singles match but quickly bounced back in doubles. 

The pairings of No. 1 Schneider and Kuehl, No. 2 Hardinger and Lutz, and No. 3 Thompson and Conlin all won their matches. 

Kuehl and Schneider took their match, 6-0, 6-1, Hardinger and Lutz won 6-2, 6-0, and Thompson and Conlin also were victorious, 6-0, 6-2. 

No. 4 Michaella Anderson and Rozzie Stevenson and No. 5 Bailey Bunning and Halle Bailey closed out the lineup with victories. 

Anderson and Stevenson won, 6-2, 6-0, while Bunning and Bailey came out on top, 6-1, 6-0.

“This runs the season record to 9-1 with our regular season finale coming up Thursday versus Ballard,” Latimer said. 

The girls will host Ballard at 4:15 Thursday, September 11, at McHose Park for senior night.
