The Boone girls’ tennis team delivered a strong performance at South Tama, sweeping all matches 9–0, Thursday, August 14.

“It was a beautiful fall morning for tennis,” said head coach Shawn Latimer.

The Toreadors dominated in both singles and doubles, with every player winning in straight sets and dropping just one game total.

No. 1 Livi Schneider, No. 2 Kaylee Kuehl, No. 3 Claire Hardinger, No. 4 Juliana Lutz, No. 5 Ally Thompson, and No. 6 Olivia Conlin each posted commanding singles straight-set victories.

The doubles pairings of No. 1 Schneider and Kuehl, No. 2 Hardinger and Lutz and No. 3 Thompson and Conlin mirrored the success with straight-set victories.

Complete results and scores were previously posted on kwbg.com

Boone earned praise from South Tama’s coach and fans for their sportsmanship.

“I’m proud of the way the girls handled themselves,” Latimer said.

“They were gracious and respectful to an inexperienced squad, and it didn’t go unnoticed.”
