The Boone girls’ tennis team moved to 9-2 on the season with a shutout victory over South Tama, 11-0, Friday, May 2.
The teams started at McHose Park but ended up playing the match at the Iowa State Tennis Facility in Ames.
“Senior night didn’t go quite as planned,” said head coach Shawn Latimer.
“We got to honor our seniors and put the girls on the courts, and within 2 minutes, the skies unleashed.”
“Luckily the ISU bubble was free, and we moved indoors and played the meet.”
In singles, No. 1, Kaylee Kuehl won, 10-3, and No. 2 Livi Schneider remained unbeaten on the season with a 10-0 victory.
No. 3 Shannon Jenkins and No. 4 Juliana Lutz both won, 10-1.
No. 5 Ally Thompson won, 10-3, and No. 6 Claire Hardinger won, 10-1.
In doubles, No. 1 Kuehl and Schneider won, 10-2, No. 2 Jenkins and Hardinger won, 10-1, and No. 3 Lutz and Olivia Conlin won, 10-2.
No. 4 Michaella Anderson and Rozzie Stevenson won, 10-8, and No. 5 Ally Thompson and Baylee Bunning won, 10-2.
