Boone High School Teacher Honored With Statewide Technology & Innovation Award

KWBG 10/22/24

BOONE, Iowa—Boone High School English Teacher and Instructional Coach Jill Isley has received the Sypersma Leadership and Innovation Award from the Iowa Technology and Education Connection (ITEC).

The award is presented annually to educators across Iowa who demonstrate exceptional leadership in promoting and using technology to benefit students and staff. It highlights individuals in various roles—from teachers and administrators to instructional leaders and technicians—who inspire and innovate within the educational field.

Isley was honored during the ITEC Fall Conference on Monday, October 21.

“I am truly honored to be recognized with this award,” said Isley. “I love working in my hometown and helping both students and teachers grow through innovative approaches to learning. The support I receive from my family, friends, and colleagues motivates me to continue exploring new ways to enhance education.”

Isley has been a teacher in the Boone Community School District since 2011. With 16 years of experience, Isley’s career spans roles as a middle school English language arts teacher, high school English teacher, full-time technology coach, and speech and drama sponsor.

As both an instructional coach and a teacher, Isley’s passion for engaging learning experiences shines through in her dedication to both students and staff.

“Jill is an outstanding example of what it means to be an innovative and student-centered educator. Her passion for integrating technology into learning has made a tremendous difference in our schools,” said Superintendent Julie Trepa. “We are proud of her achievements and grateful for the positive influence she has on both our students and staff.”
