Following an opening round bye, the Boone Little league All Stars opened play Sunday representing the State of Iowa in the 2024 Little League Central Region Intermediate Baseball Tournament. Boone took advantage of an 8 run first inning and a timely RBI triple by Duke Darby late in the game to defeat Ohio 13-9. Darby connected on a pair of RBI triples to lead a balanced Boone offence.
Boone will be in action again at 6:30 on Tuesday, they will face off against the winner of tomorrow’s match up between Kentucky and Indiana. This year’s Central Region Tournament is being held at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex in Ankeny. The Tournament winner advances to Little League’s Intermediate World Series.
