Boone McDonald’s To Be Torn Down & Rebuilt

KWBG 03/26/19

BOONE, Iowa—It wasn’t a secret that the Boone McDonald’s was going to be torn down and rebuilt.  Many have followed along as the proposed project went through the City of Boone’s Plan and Zoning Commission and City Council.  With a month to go, the O’Brien Family McDonald’s organization has issued this announcement about the project:

We are excited to announce that Boone will be receiving a brand-new McDonald’s for the whole community to enjoy! The last day of business in the current building will be Sunday, April 28th. The building will be demolished to make way for a new modern upgrade, which is expected to be done late August.

During construction, customers are encouraged to visit our restaurants in Ames, Nevada, Story City, Marshalltown and Carroll. To show our loyal customers our appreciation during this time, we are giving away 3,500 VIP Boone Customer Cards starting on April 1st at our Boone McDonald’s. The cards will be good for 10% off all orders over $5 during construction at our locations listed above. To get your hands on one of these cards, simply ask an employee for the “VIP Card” at the Boone McDonald’s! One card will be given out per customer until they’re gone.

The outside of the new building will have a modern façade and improved accessibility from Story Street and through the drive-through. The inside will have a modern, but cozy design and a new PlayPlace structure for kids to enjoy. For those looking to order at their own pace, the restaurant will offer digital self-order kiosks to make ordering and paying for a meal easy. The front counter registers will also still be there as an ordering option. Guests’ orders will be delivered to tables by McDonald’s crew members, allowing customers to relax and enjoy a more custom dining experience.

With these new changes, the restaurant will be placing a higher emphasis on hospitality by focusing on greeting customers, assisting with technology and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment. These changes also require more employees for the restaurant, which means we will be hiring prior to the Grand Re-Opening. We offer many benefits including college tuition assistance, health insurance, paid time off, retirement plans and much more! If you or anyone you know would like to join our team, visit us at www.obrienmcdonalds.com/careers.

The store will hold a Grand Re-Opening to celebrate the completion of the project with the community. More information will be posted on the O’Brien Family McDonald’s Facebook page when it gets scheduled. The O’Brien Family McDonald’s organization has been in operation for 61 years and owns 18 McDonald’s restaurants in Iowa. The organization acquired the Boone restaurant in August 2018 and is excited to bring a completely remodeled restaurant to the community.
