BOONE, Iowa—Monday evening, Boone Police released information about an arrest that occurred following an investigation in several harassment complaints on Saturday.
The release for the department says:
At approximately 1840 hours, on June 21, 2021, officers of the Boone Police Department arrested Robert C. Geddes, age 25. He was charged with 4 counts each of Trespass-Hate Crime 716.8(3) and Harassment 3rd Degree 708.7(4). He was remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail.
On 06/19/2021, Boone Police Officers took several complaints from residents in Boone of notes that had been taped to their doors. The victims all had flags or door mats supporting LGBTQ persons. These notes spoke in opposition of this support only and were not threatening in nature. The Boone Police Department has identified a suspect and charges are being filed.
AN ARREST WITHOUT DISPOSITION IS NOT AN INDICATION OF GUILT
Police Chief John Wiebold actually made the announcement that an arrest had been made during his report to the Boone City Council on Monday evening.
