Boone Police Arrest Three on Theft, Trespass and Interference Charges

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Police Department has released information on the arrest of three Polk County individuals after an early morning incident in Boone Friday.  Boone Police Chief John Wiebold released this information:

On May 20, 2022 around 2:00 am., the Boone Police Department began investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of Marion Street. Officers attempted to make contact with the occupants of the vehicle in the 600 block of W. 9th Street. The occupants fled south from the car on foot and officers gave chase. The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Polk County.

Assistance was requested from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. Three deputies responded to assist to include Police Service K-9 Sampson. K-9 Sampson was deployed who then tracked the occupants to the 600 block of W. 8th Street where the three occupants were located hiding in a backyard storage shed.

The suspects have been identified as:

1. Kuku Tutu Teya age 18 of W. Des Moines
2. Mykel Lee Mc Million age 19 of Des Moines
3. Isaiah Thomas Bolden age 20 of Des Moines

Each suspect was charged with:

1. Theft 1st Degree
2. Trespass
3. Interference With Official Acts

The investigation is ongoing, as six car burglaries have now been reported. Additional charges are expected.
