BOONE, Iowa—Boone Police Chief John Wiebold has announced that the department and the Iowa DCI are investigating two deaths discovered Monday morning. The statement was released Monday:
At approximately 8:55am, on August 31, 2026, Boone Police Officers were dispatched to 1520 15th St for a report of a deceased male. Upon arrival, Officers entered the home and found Gregory Evenson and Ronette Bonnell, both deceased.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist in the investigation. Both bodies were taken for autopsy. There is no danger to the public.
No further information will be released at this time.
