BOONE, Iowa—Last Sunday morning, Boone Police responded to a reported assault in the 1000 block of Story Street. Today, the department reported an arrest in the case.
Boone Police Officers investigated a stabbing incident that occurred on 01/21/2024 in the 1000 block of Story Street. At approximately 1:54am emergency services responded to a report of an assault with a knife and one victim had sustained serious injuries.
During this incident, officers of the Boone Police Department worked diligently to gather information, secure evidence, and identify the suspect. The safety of our citizens remains the top priority for our department. We want to thank the citizens who assisted in this investigation.
On 01/25/2024, Perry Dewalt, age 53 of Boone, was arrested and charged with Willful Injury – Causing Serious Injury. He is currently held in the Boone County Jail.
The victim, whose name will not be release at this time, was treated for his injuries.
