BOONE, Iowa—Voters in the Boone School District have elected Jeremy Pritchard and Dr. Brian Mehlhaus in Tuesday’s election. Pritchard was the top vote getter with 1,561 votes followed by Mehlhaus with 869. Write in candidate Helane Palmer received 739 votes, but it has not been confirmed that all the write-ins were for Palmer. Fourth on the ballot was Fred Acuff with 690 votes.
Last week, Mehlhaus had announced that he was suspending his campaign. His name remained on the ballot because the time to withdraw was in September.
These election results are unofficial until canvased by the Boone County Board of Supervisors next week.
