The Boone Toreadors Softball team advanced to the 4A State Semifinals with a 5-0 shutout of Carlisle on Tuesday afternoon. A scoreless game thru 4 innings of play until the Toreadors batted in the top of the 5th. Natalee Danner led off with a line out, Emily Ades followed with a base hit, Zoey Hightshoe popped out and that put Emma Dighton at the plate. Dighton was walked in her previous appearance and it appeared Carlisle may do that again………they did not……….and this happened
The Toreadors led 2-0 heading to the top of the 7th inning when Natalee Danner stepped to the plate, Head Toreador Coach Erica White (to her credit) said she thought something big was coming from Danner……….she might need to buy a lottery ticket………
Boone would go on to score 2 more in the inning (The Lewis sisters both had RBI singles) Boone led 5-0 heading to the bottom of the 7th. A groundout would end it and Boone would win 5-0. The Toreadors will get top ranked/seeded Winterset, Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm
