Boone swimmers beat Carroll at home

The Toreador girls swim team had the opportunity to host a meet on Tuesday, October 15. Boone beat Carroll, 83-13 and lost to Newton, 77-24.

The Toreador girls swim team had the opportunity to host a meet on Tuesday, October 15. Boone beat Carroll, 83-13 and lost to Newton, 77-24. 

Hailey Olson placed first in diving with a score of 148.25 and Olivia Halverson was second in 132.65. 

Brooke Lile chalked a couple 2nd place finishes. She finished the 200 free in 2:20.41 and completed the 500 free in 6:21.54. 

Claire Enabnit placed 2nd in the 100 back in 1:11.35 and ended up 3rd in the 100 free in 1:03.87. 

Avery Howie received a couple 3rd place finishes. She placed 3rd in the 100 breast in 1:22.83 and was 3rd in the 100 fly in 1:11.22. 

Avery Overland placed 3rd in the 50 free in :30.01 while Sara Gute placed 4th in the 200 IM in 2:48.56. 

All 3 Toreador relays placed 3rd. The 200 medley relay of Lile, Howie, Lily Wright and Morgan Cox clocked a time of 2:18.22. 

The 200 free relay of Ashlyn Burkhart, Howie, Overland and Sara Gute ended in 1:55.31 while the 400 free relay of Lile, Wright, Overland and Tessa Gute finished in 4:30.00.  

Boone has an overall record of 15-17 and is 3-1 in dual meets. 

The Toreadors next host Indianola at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 17.
