The Boone girls’ swimming team concluded the dual meet portion of its season by beating Indianola, 146-31, Thursday, October 15, at Boone High School on senior night.
“Senior night is the best,” said head coach Chris Mann. “I love the emotions that run high from the first to the last event.”
“I love girls supporting one another in their final home meet of the season – or career. I can’t say enough how proud I am of these 6 young ladies and the leaders that they have been,” he said.

The Toreadors end the regular season with an overall record 33-5 and a final Dual record of 8-0.
This season, girls from Perry High School swam with Boone because of construction to their pool.
“Merging two teams this fall has been nothing but wonderful because of their leadership,” Mann said. “We are going to miss them next year, but the foundation and expectations they have laid will prove to be a springboard for success in teams to come.”
The Toreadors will travel to the Grinnell College Natatorium for the North Central Conference Swimming and Diving Meet beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, October 23.
Centerville, Boone, Grinnell, Newton, Oskaloosa, Decorah and Williamsburg all will compete at the conference meet.
