Boone swimmers top Indianola at home

The Boone girls hosted their final home meet of the season and topped Indianola, 110-72, Thursday, October 17.

The Boone girls hosted their final home meet of the season and topped Indianola, 110-72, Thursday, October 17. 

The meet began with a victory for Boone in the 200 medley relay which included Avery Howie, Brooke Lile, Claire Enabnit and Tessa Gute in 2:10.25. 

The Toreadors placed 2nd in the 200 free relay with Avery Overland, Tessa Gute, Sara Gute and Dani Goudie in 1:57.21 

They also placed 2nd in the 400 free relay with Enabnit, Sara Gute, Howie and Lile in 4:08.51. 

Individually, Enabnit placed 1st in the 200 free in 2:14.14 and also was 1st in the 100 yard fly in 1:07.42. 

Howie also claimed 2 victories. She won the 50 free in 26.51 and won the 100 back in 1:04.47. 

Overland placed 1st in the 100 breast in 1:18.27 and was 2nd in the 100 free in 1:04.89. 

Lile was 2nd in the 200 IM in 2:32.12, while Savannah Witte was 4th in the 500 free in 6:46.23. 

Olivia Halverson won the 1-meter diving with a score of 172.35. Hailey Olson was 2nd in 151.55, and Sydney Dodd was 3rd in 140.20. 

Next week, Boone heads to Grinnell for the North Central Conference tournament on Saturday, Oct. 26.  

Teams in attendance include Williamsburg, Boone, Vinton-Shellsburg, Oskaloosa, Newton, Grinnell and Decorah.
