Boone swimmers win triangular at Newton

The Boone boys’ swimming team won a triangular against Newton/Colfax-Mingo/Pella and Des Moines East Tuesday, December 10, at the Newton YMCA.

The Boone boys’ swimming team won a triangular against Newton/Colfax-Mingo/Pella and Des Moines East Tuesday, December 10, at the Newton YMCA. 

The Toreadors took 1st with 95 points. Newton/Colfax-Mingo/Pella was 2nd with 63 points, and East had 43 points. 

Isaac Clark won 2 individual events. He won the 200 IM in 2:22.61 and the 100 fly in 1:02.41. 

Cooper Jensen was champion in the 400 free with a time of 4:53.74. 

Also, Warren Williams won the 100 back in 1:07.35. 

Placing 2nd were Calvin Cook in the 200 free in 2:18.81, Williams in the 50 free in 25.07, Simon Enabnit in the 100 free in 1:00.43 and Cooper Sanit in the 100 breast in 1:22.50. 

The Toreadors took 1st place in all 3 relays. 

The 200 medley relay of Enabnit, Santi, Jensen and Chase Mueller opened the meet with a victory in 2:07.41. 

The 200 free relay of Clark, Williams, Santi and Carson Muggenberg won in 1:42.09. 

The 400 free relay of Clark, Enabnit, Jensen and Carden Nerem won in 3:56.32.

Boone improves its overall record to 7-0. 

The Toreadors next face Carroll and Des Moines Hoover at noon on Saturday, December 14, in Des Moines.
