The Boone girls swimming and diving team emerged victorious in a home meet Tuesday, September 9, defeating Perry, 67-34, and Algona, 64-38, improving their season record to 9-2 overall.
In individual events, Avery Howie claimed first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.24, followed by Quinn Houston in second in 1:03.30.
In the 500 Yard Freestyle, Boone dominated again with Makenzie Klatt and Claire Enabnit finishing first and second in 6:05.70 and 6:05.93, respectively.
Finley Houser won the 100 Yard Backstroke in 1:12.74, and Klatt placed third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:25.24.
Houser and Savannah Witte placed second and third in 2:19.86 and 2:27.77, respectively, in the 200 Yard Freestyle, while Claire Enabnit placed second in the 200 Yard IM in 2:32.62.
Boone’s divers also made a splash, with Amaya Filipiak earning second place with a score of 196.20 and Hailey Olson close behind in third with 182.15.
Boone’s relay teams claimed two victories.
The 200 Yard Free Relay team of Howie, Harper Houston, Tessa Gute, and Klatt took first with a time of 1:52.43.
The 400 Yard Free Relay team of Sara Gute, Howie, Quinn Houston, and Claire Enabnit closed the meet with another first-place finish at 4:11.59.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay of Klatt, Harper Houston, Claire Enabnit, and Tessa Gute secured second place with a time of 2:07.55.

Boone now looks ahead to a dual meet in Des Moines against East High School on Thursday, September 18.
