Boone teams lose at Carroll

The Boone boys’ basketball team lost to Carroll, 75-53, Tuesday, January 28, at Carroll in Raccoon River Conference play. Earlier in the evening, the Boone girls’ basketball team lost to Carroll, 52-19.

The Boone boys’ basketball team lost to Carroll, 75-53, Tuesday, January 28, at Carroll in Raccoon River Conference play. 

Jude Baumgardner led the Toreadors with 17 points on 5 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 4 free throws. 

Wes Van Pelt added 14 points on 3 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 6 free throws. 

Tyson Shivers ended with 7 points on 3 field goals and 1 free throw. 

Shivers and Braden Brooks had 2 assists each. 

On the defensive end, Shivers grabbed 10 rebounds and 3 steals. 

Brooks had 7 rebounds and 2 steals while Hendrix Moorman had 4 rebounds and 1 steal. 

Boone falls to 7-8 overall and 3-8 in the conference. 

Carroll improved to 6-8 overall and 4-7 in the conference. 

Earlier in the evening, the Boone girls’ basketball team lost to Carroll, 52-19. 

The Toreadors will host Bondurant-Farrar (6-8, 5-5 boys and 5-11, 1-9 girls) Friday, January 31, for pack the gym night with the girls’ game at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game at 7:30 p.m. 

There is free admission for all Boone students, and children in grades kindergarten through 6th must have a paid adult with them. 

There will be fun activities, a bracelet making station and a dessert sale with all funds supporting the 12 Boone FCCLA members who qualified for state. 

In addition, the Boone High Drill Team will perform during half time of the boys’ game.
