Boone volleyball falls to Gilbert

The Boone Toreadors hosted Gilbert on Tuesday, September 16, in a Raccoon River Conference clash at Boone High School but couldn’t overcome the Tigers’ momentum, falling in straight sets, 3-0.

The Boone Toreadors hosted Gilbert on Tuesday, September 16, in a Raccoon River Conference clash at Boone High School but couldn’t overcome the Tigers’ momentum, falling in straight sets, 3-0. 

Jenna Johnson led the offense with 8 assists and was perfect from the service line, going 12-for-12. 

Madelyn Davidson paced the attack with 4 kills, while Tria Hoyle and Madilyn Barrett each added 2 kills. 

Taylor Arringdale led the defense with 8 digs, and Karsyn Smith and Baylee Bunning each contributed 5 digs. 

Delaney Good added 2 service aces, going 12-for-14 on serves. 

Halle Johnson also went 10-for-10 serving. 

Gilbert improved to 8-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play, while Boone dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the Raccoon River Conference. 

Boone returns to action tonight at the Best of Boone County Invitational, hosted by Ogden High School at 6 p.m. 

Boone will open play against Madrid, then Madrid faces Ogden, and Boone will take on Ogden in the nightcap. 

All matches will be broadcast live on KWBG FM 101.5, AM 1590, and streaming at kwbglive.com, with sports director Ryan Wendt on the call.
