BOONE, Iowa—Today, the Boone Walmart Supercenter celebrated it’s Grand Re-Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a big celebration wrapping up several months of a significant remodeling. The Boone Walmart was one of ten in the state receiving a major make over. Others were Ames, Cedar Rapids, Creston, Dubuque, Fairfield, Independence, Grinnell, Ottumwa and Pella. The original Boone Walmart Store was build in 1989 a just about 67,000 square feet. In 2012 the new Walmart Supercenter with about 120,000 square feet. The newly remodeled store features a new look with bold signage, spacious aisles and more selection. The remodeling also features a community mural at the entrance. The Boone Community Mural is titled, “Boone’s Scenic Valley”.
