
BOONE, Iowa—A 71 year old Boone woman has died from injuries sustained in Tuesday’s accident at Corporal Roger Snedden Drive and U.S. Highway 30. According to the report from the Iowa State Patrol, 68 year old Kevin Johnson of Boone was driving south on Corporal Snedden Drive in a 2014 Kia Soul. According to the report, Johnson went through the stop sign on Highway 30 and failed to yield to a westbound 2022 Chevrolet K2500 pickup operated by 51 year old Salvador Cervantes of Loomis, Washington.
The report says a passenger in the Johnson vehicle, Barbara Johnson was flown from the scene by Life Flight to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Johnson died from her injuries today. Kevin Johnson was transported by Boone County Hospital Ambulance to Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. There has been no update on his condition. Cervantes was not injured in the collision.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Boone Police Department, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Boone Fire and Rescue, Boone County Hospital Ambulance, and Condon’s Towing. The accident remains under investigation.
