
The Boone Toreadors girls’ basketball team saw its season end as Webster City held on for a 42–36 overtime victory in the Class 4A, Region 2 quarterfinal, Wednesday, February 18, in Webster City.
After the first quarter, Boone trailed, 11–8, and by halftime, the Lynx were ahead 19–14.
At the end of the third quarter, the score was locked at 23–23, and the Toreadors forced a tie once again — 34–34 — sending the game into overtime.
The extra period belonged to Webster City with the Lynx outscoring Boone 8–2 as the Toreadors’ rally fell just short.
Junior Macy Chesnut poured in 24 points, going 10-of-13 at the free‑throw line and knocking down two threes.
Junior Brooke Weisbrod added 7 points, while freshman Harper Houston chipped in 4, and junior Bry Morgan added a free throw.
Webster City (9–13) moves on to face Dallas Center‑Grimes on Saturday, February 21.
Boone closes the year at 5–17.
Season Leaders
Macy Chesnut scored 220 points and averaged 11.6 points per game.
She also had 27 assists and averaged 1.4 assists per game.
Freshman Whitney Chesnut had 148 points and averaged 7.0 points per game.
She also had 93 rebounds and averaged 4.4 rebounds per game as well as 38 assists and averaged 1.8 assists per game.
Weisbrod ended with 89 points and averaged 4.2 points per game and shot, 60% on three-pointers.
She also had 103 rebounds and averages 4.9 rebounds per game.
Sophomore Kyra Darby ended with 71 rebounds and averaged 3.4 rebounds per game.
She also had 19 assists and averaged 0.9 assists per game.
