Bradley Harris

KWBG 05/25/23

BOONE, Iowa–Bradley James Harris, 61, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 2023 at his home in Boone, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at First Evangelical Free Church, 1407 Kate Shelley Drive, Boone. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.

Brad was born March 29, 1962, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Richard and Maxine (Nyhus) Harris. Brad attended Ogden schools and graduated in 1981. He went on to attain his barber license in Texas in 1984. He was able to work his way back to Boone after time in Missouri and Northern Iowa. He was a third-generation barber and joined his father’s business in Boone, later buying the shop (Boone Barber Service) when it was time for Dick to retire. Brad took early retirement in March of 2018.

Some of Brad’s favorite memories revolved around building a collection of Barber/Barber Shop Memorabilia with his father. He loved several cats and 2 very special dogs during his lifetime. Purple ended up being one of his favorite colors – his purple Dodge Challenger Hellcat provided several years of entertainment!

Brad is survived by his sister, Diane Golding (Tom). He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Harris on June 20, 2013 and Maxine Harris on March 12, 2007.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Online condolences may be left to Brad’s family at www.schroedermemorial.com
