BOONE, Iowa—Brenda (Harris) Hoffman, 61, of Boone, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Boone County Hospital.
Following Brenda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at a later date.
Brenda was born July 24, 1963, in Boone, the daughter of Bob and Kitty Harris. She attended school in Boone and graduated from Boone High School with the class of 1981. She was six foot tall, which helped her excel in ballet and other forms of dance.
Brenda worked as a baker for Iowa State University and then at Boone Hardware for 20+ years. She was united in marriage to Philip Hoffman on August 8, 2008, at Don Williams Lake near Boone.
Brenda was a simple lady and had a close circle of friends, that she stayed active with. She enjoyed attending the car races, to support her great-nephew. Brenda loved her dogs and treated them as her children, until her nieces and nephews came along and then they became her children as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Kitty Harris; husband, Philip in 2022; sister, Yvonne Anderson; and two brothers, Donnie Harris and Ronnie Harris.
Brenda is survived by two nieces, Tiffani (Jack) Scott and Tiana Hankey both of Oklahoma; three nephews, Jason (Sara) Mallicoat, Matt Harris, and Justin (Emily) Harris all of Iowa; sister-in-law, Nora Harris of Iowa; two step-sons, Phil Hoffman, Jr. of Iowa and Jason Hoffman of Washington; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces.
