
The Ogden girls’ wrestling team had two individual champions Monday, December 1, at the Manson Girls Invitational.
Rylin Casey (100 lbs) improved to 8-1 and claimed 1st place, winning four matches by fall and one by decision.
Her pins came in quick fashion, including falls at 1:59, 1:54, and 3:35.
Makayla Alexander (170 lbs) also earned 1st place.
Alexander went 3-0 on the day, pinning all her opponents in under four minutes, including a fall in 1:31 in her opening match.
Trinity Stoneburner (110 lbs) battled her way to a 3rd-place finish.
She earned two wins by fall, including a decisive pin in the 3rd-place match at 3:28.
Sophie Seligman (125 lbs) also placed 3rd.
After a tough semifinal loss, she bounced back to win by forfeit in the medal match.
Kinley Hare (140 lbs) finished 4th, highlighted by a quick pin in just 1:06 during her quarterfinal round.
Ruby Tasler (235 lbs) rounded out Ogden’s scoring with a 5th-place finish, sealing her day with a dominant pin in only 13 seconds.
South Central Calhoun captured the team title with 118 points, while Ogden’s 77 points secured 7th place in a competitive field of 12 schools.
Ogden returns to the mat on Thursday, December 4, hosting Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Saydel in a triangular at 5:30 p.m. for Senior Night.
