Fareway Stores Incorporated has pledged $2 million to the proposed Rec/Wellness Center project for downtown Boone. Boone Mayor John Slight says that because of the pledge, the proposed franchise fee to pay for the bond would be reduced from 3% to 2%. See full story on our News Tab.
