Sara Klute Behn, Executive Director, Boone County Hospital Foundation is our Health Talk guest this month. She updates activity planned to support the BCH "Be the Light" program, assisting families with a cancer diagnosis. She talks about the work of the Foundation, the capital projects and purchases they've supported and grants that have supported the efforts. She also talks about events coming up and reminds everyone that it's time to apply for scholarships. Aired Friday, February 28, 2025.

Boone County Search and Rescue, Andrew Godzicki, Seth McCrea and Chris Hayes visited about the progress being made in reestablishing Search and Rescue in Boone County. In the past year, equipment was replaced and upgraded. New equipment was acquired much through donations and grants. Training has been scheduled regularly and will continue. Search and Rescue is planning a late March search at the Ledges State Park for Jesse Leopold. Aired Thursday, February 27, 2025.

Ondrea Elmquist, Assistant Administrator for Boone, talks about the process used by the City in their budget preparations. She explained how work begins, involving Department Heads and the process to eventually bring a budget to Council for consideration. This year that included a balanced budget with no change in the levy rate. She explains how the CIP or Capital Improvement Plan is developed and updated and how that's used for budget planning. The CIP is a five year plan. She also talked about the Council's decision to retain Hinson, LLC to assist in the search for a new City Administrator. Aired Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
