Sgt. Ryan Palmer, Boone Police Department is the guest and visits about Trunk or Treat next week, which will be the unofficial kickoff of Shop With a Cop. Palmer reviewed some of the information about Shop With a Cop. The Boone PD Benevolence Association will be taking nominations and forms are available at the Boone Police Department. John Roosa, Administrator, Boone County Landfill and Boone County Recycling talks about landfill operations. He talks more about the newest numbers indicating that with the development of the last targeted cell for solid waste disposal, operations could last more than 24 years. However future growth and development will have an impact. He talked about taking yard waste on Thursday, Friday and Saturday til mid-November. Trepa also reviewed some of the preliminary numbers for enrollment. The official enrollment numbers will be determined on October 15th. Park has already conducted a number of trainings and says she expects more to be scheduled. As a prevention specialist, she also talked about Red Ribbon Week, the history of Red Ribbon Week and some of the prevention based information being made available this time of the year.
