Ondrea Elmquist, Boone City Administrator talks about business coming up at the Boone City Council meeting next Tuesday. There are a couple of public hearings that will be held, scheduled from the Council’s last meeting. Elmquist also talked about the city’s Capital Improvement Plan. The Plan focuses on projects expected in the next five years, but also has several that are more than five years. She says an update for the Council will bring everyone up to date on project schedules. A new CIP will be developed over the next couple of months for Council consideration in March. The Library will be closed on September 1st for the Labor Day Holiday and again on Saturday, September 20th due to the Pufferbilly Days Celebration. Many regular programs are picking up after a brief break during August. And, September is National Library Card Signup Month so they encourage everyone to get and use a library card. Recently, the Boone County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with WHKS Engineering to develop plans, bid and oversee the construction of a force main to move leachate from the landfill to the Boone Wastewater Plant.
