Weather Service Updates Hazardous Winter Weather

DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has provided updated information about freezing rain that is expected to lead to dangerous travel this evening into Saturday. (contributed information, NWS)

BJ McGinn, Interim Executive Campus Dean, DMACC Boone Campus visits about wrapping up the fall semester. Only a couple of basketball games remain. Spring semester will begin after the first of the year and numbers look good at this time. McGinn said athletic programs are performing well. He noted that successful Cross Country programs will be participating in Track. The recruit for the competitive Dance Team will be visiting campus next week. Aired Friday, December 13, 2024.

How to stay safe on the roadways and if you're traveling, making sure your home is secure. They visited about the issues created with the removal of the median crossover at South Linn Street and Highway 30 and more. There was also an update on Shop With a Cop being held Thursday evening. Aired Thursday, December 12, 2024.

She also talked about the Boone School District's applications for the modified supplemental amount of funding for the School Budget Review Committee. Boone did have two applications and she pointed out that all school districts are taking similar action this month. Aired Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
