Dr. Julie Trepa, Superintendent, Boone Community School District talks about the recent school board meeting. The Board received a presentation on the guidelines the district will use regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence. She also talked about the Board permitting Scouting America, Mid-Iowa Council, presenting information for Cub Scout candidates during lunchtime to share scouting opportunities for both boys and girls. The board also approved the candidates for graduation, as long as all requirements are met. Graduation is Memorial Day Weekend. Aired Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

First, students from the Boone High School EDGE Advantage program to paint trash cans at the Greenspace downtown Boone. It’s a project that was identified by students in the program. Stecker also talked about the downtown tree project and the metal grates that will be installed. She also updated information on the downtown arch project and the upcoming a Summer Kickoff for Shops on Story. Aired Thursday, May 08, 2025.

However, the next event will be held in Boone at the DMACC Boone Campus and will coincide with the city’s annual cleanup. Roosa also talked about the discussions between Boone County and Ames and Story County regarding plans for the disposal of municipal solid waste. Aired Wednesday, May 07, 2025.

He’s involved with Education Funding and will be taking part in those negotiations. He also is involved with the debate on the use of imminent domain for the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline project. Mikaela Kienitz, CEO for the Boone County Hospital Health Talk. Kienitz talks about the recent Board of Trustee’s meeting in April. There were several administrative reports. Kienitz noted that financially with only a couple of months left in the fiscal year, the hospital is in very good condition. She noted an increase in births compared to a year ago.
