Nate Osmundson, Boone Rec Director talks about Nights on the Green. The first one of the year will be Friday, May 2nd. He talks about what’s coming up for the rest of the season. The July Night on the Green will be the second Friday because of the July 4th Holiday. Nights on the Green end in September. Osmundson did say that Kris Blocker of Visit Boone County has a new activity that will be announced soon. They visit about the work that’s gone into the first ever National Championship event held in Boone County. Blocker talked about the number of businesses and individuals that have stepped up to help with sponsorships. There were a couple of protests to the budget, one written and the other verbal at the Public Hearing. The Council was also updated on a potential change for fuel service from FS Fuel Sales. The City plans to remove their current fuel tanks and their fuel management system. The Council agreed to a budget amendment to the current fiscal year budget and allow the Parks Department to use money being saved for a sand filter for the swimming pool and purchase a new heater. The hopes of getting another season out of the current heater did not work out. These are only a couple of highlights from the meeting. Aired Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
