Changes planned for 42nd Pufferbilly Days Festival

KWBG 05/02/18

The annual Pufferbilly Days™ festival returns for its 42nd year, September 7th through September 9th. You’ll notice many exciting changes for this year’s festival. The first and probably biggest change will be that the former four-day festival will be condensed down to three days. The 2018 Pufferbilly Days Steering Committee made the decision to eliminate Thursday with the idea of bolstering Sunday activities. The layout of Pufferbilly Days will look a little different as well, the carnival will be expanding down 9th St, the food court will be moved inside the entertainment area, along with several other noticeable changes.

We will be opening the festival on Friday with our Opening Ceremonies including a welcome, singing of the National Anthem, presentation of the “Citizen of the Year” award and kicking the night off with live music from “The Voice” Season 3 contestant, Casey Muessigmann and Band. Also, taking place on Friday will be the Carnival, Pufferbilly Days Car Show, the Quilt Show will be opening for the weekend and BINGO taking place both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday night’s entertainment will be rock music by IV Play.

Many of the Sunday events will be relocated to the main festival area. The carnival is sticking around for one more day of fun and rides, and they will be bringing back a Lip Sync Battle. The Spelling Bee Contest, Pet Show Contest, and Church Service will be relocated from McHose Park to downtown. Also, taking place on Sunday will be the Mud Volleyball Tournament, Disc Golf Tournament, Bike Ride, Family Fun Day Petting Zoo along with the food court and craft fair continuing through the afternoon.
