BOONE, Iowa—The annual spring time ban of garbage trucks in alleys in Boone has been put in place, effective Tuesday morning. Boone Public Works Director John Rouse told the City Council Monday that it’s a few weeks earlier than normal, but the weather is having an earlier impact on the condition of alleys. The ban will be in place until further notice.
The Parks Department has also closed the gates to McHose Park as well. Again, usually done when the weather causes gravel roads to become susceptible to damage from vehicular traffic. For those making use of Canine Corral or walking in the park, it’s recommended to park outside the gates.
