BOONE, Iowa—Corey Davis, age 70, of Boone, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on August 14, 1946 in Greene, Iowa, the son of Richard Witwer and Fern Goodsell.
Corey lived in Charles City, Iowa, before moving to Boone in 1969. He graduated from Boone High School in 1974.
Corey was a life-long Boone resident, and worked as a concrete finisher and foreman at Dean Snyder Construction. He was there for several decades before retiring a few years ago.
Corey loved golfing. He also enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball.
Corey was a beloved son, brother, and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard “Dick” Edward Witwer and Fern LaDonna (Goodsell, Witwer) Davis.
Corey is survived by two brothers, Joel J. Witwer of Texas and Michael S. (Witwer) Davis of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister, Melissa L. (Davis) Hoffman of Fishers, IN; and eight nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Cedar Pointe Golf Course, 601 S Cedar Street, Boone.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone.
