Council Approves Bid to Resurface Francis Mason Drive

KWBG 05/08/18

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council took action to approve a bid received for the resurfacing of Francis Mason Drive through McHose Park in Boone.  Residents have been complaining for more than a year about the condition of the road, especially after a bad winter two-years ago that caused numerous frost boils.  The city’s Public Works Department spent last year removing and installing new culverts to aid with drainage with the plan to resurface the road this year.  Bids were received last week and the Council did approve the bid from Manatt’s, Inc. for $304,630 to resurface the road.  The City has a targeted completion date of June 29th.  The bid also includes the resurfacing of the tennis courts in Memorial Park.
