Council Members and Park Commission Members in Boone Sworn in Wednesday

BOONE, Iowa—Jordan Hammer took the oath of office Wednesday to become the Boone City Council’s newest member. Hammer was elected in November and succeeds David Byrd, who served two four-year terms as First Ward councilman. Three other council members
who were re-elected in November were also sworn in Wednesday by new Mayor Dave
Casotti. They are Third Ward Councilwoman Lisa Kahookele, Fifth Ward Councilman Kole
Hilsabeck and Councilwoman at-large Linda Williamson.

Councilwoman-at-large Linda Williamson, who was re-elected in November, takes the oath of office from Mayor Dave Casotti, who had taken the oath earlier from his predecessor, Elijah Stines.

Mayor Dave Casotti swears in Third Ward Councilmember Lisa Kahookele, re-elected to her first four year term last November. Kahookele ran unopposed. She completed the two years remaining on the term with Elijah Stines was elected Mayor.

Casotti also administered the oath of office to newly elected Boone Park Commission member Marc Peter and re-elected members Kevin Pearson and John Niemants. Park commissioners, who serve four-year terms, hire the parks director, set goals and advise on park operations.
