BOONE, Iowa—Boone City Building Official Ed Higgins will be retiring by the end of the month and the Boone City Council took time to recognize Higgins for his 31 years of service to the community. Boone Mayor John Slight presented Higgins with a Service Award during Monday nights City Council meeting. Higgins began his service as a member of the Boone Fire Department. Higgins is being replaced as Building Official David Ades.
