County Plans Extensive Work on 222nd Drive

KWBG 05/02/19

BOONE, Iowa—There is no doubt this spring has been a difficult time for those that travel rural roads. The problem is not limited to Boone County.  The Boone County Board of Supervisors have heard from other Supervisors in the state that are dealing with the same complaints.  Boone County Engineer Scott Kruse recently told the Supervisors that some gravel roads in Boone County are in better condition that others, but wet conditions will continue to be an issue.

This week, Kruse released information on plans to do some extensive work on 222nd Drive with the majority of the work being done from the Hill Top Greenhouse to Seven Oaks.  In the announcement, Kruse says the area needs to have ditches re-established and positive drainage attained so water doesn’t sit on the road.  The work is expected to be done in phases.

Kruse noted that there are a large number of people living in the area that could be affected a different times.  Emergency services and other services like school buses and mail carriers will be made aware of the work being done as well.
